Nozawa Onsen Venue & Accommodation
The Ryokan Sakaya is our chosen venue for our inaugural Medicine with Altitude conference in Nozawa Onsen where all our lectures will be held. This traditional japanese ryokan is a 3-minute walk from Kenmei-ji Temple and the Nozawa Onsen bus stop. Offering free Wi-Fi access, it houses indoor and outdoor onsen (hot spring) baths. It is a 2-minute walk from Nozawa Onsen Sotoyu (public hot spring bath) and a 20-minute drive from Nozawa Onsen Station. And it is also only a 5 minute walk to the amazing Yu Road which is basically a travellator getting to you to the base of the mountain and home again.
We have taken a block booking for the conference and there are a variety of rooms which feature the yukata (Japanese bathrobe) and a private bathroom with a bathtub and hairdryer. A flat-screen TV and a personal safe, are included, along with a fridge and green tea making facilities.
The hotel has the most luxurious natural hot spring onsen facilities for both women and men with a variety of baths including outdoor onsen and sauna facilities. Along with the beautiful hospitality on offer at the Sakaya, there are opportunities to go for a massage, or to even reserve the onsen (hot spring) bath for private use at no charge.
The Ryokan Sakaya sells ski passes and offers ski storage, and other facilities include a gift shop and coin-operated laundry machines. On-site parking is free, and breakfast is included in the accommodation charge.
