As you will soon discover I am actually Scottish but came to Australia in 2006 and am now married to an Aussie and have four Scossie girls. I love the mountains and am a mad keen bike rider and these days I’m very much a MAMIL having transitioned from mountain biking to gravel and road. In winter I love to snowboard.

Dr John Scott, Emergency Medicine

Copacabana, NSW, Australia

John qualified as an emergency physician in 2017 having undertaken the majority of his training on the Central Coast of NSW with stints in Alice Springs with the RFDS and at Westmead Children’s hospital. John developed a passion for

promoting physician wellbeing as he personally felt the effects of burnout during the challenges of specialist training. John has delivered many talks and podcasts at the local, state, and international level on the effects of burnout and on the multiple benefits of promoting wellbeing within healthcare.

The last few years  of the pandemic challenged and at many times undermined John’s wellbeing beliefs and practices.  After this tumultuous era, having a clear vision of what is meaningful for us in our practice has never been more important. Stepping confidently into compassionate care has enabled John to reinvigorate and ignite his passion for Emergency Medicine. Outside of medicine John is a father of 2 young girls, husband to a fellow emergency physician and has a passion for surfing, Wim Hof breath work and CrossFit.
